KAZAKHSTAN’S GDP GREW BY 8%
IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2010
Astana, August 18: The GDP of the Kazakh economy reached $59.4 billion from January to June 2010, according to the Kazakh Agency for Statistics. This represents an 8% increase, compared to the same period in 2009.
The Kazakh Agency for Statistics noted that goods accounted for 40.5% of the GDP, with services being responsible for 56.8%.
According to the Customs Committee of Kazakhstan’s Finance Ministry, foreign trade turnover reached US$42.5 billion from January to June 2010 (+40.1% as compared to the same period in 2009). Exports totaled US$29.6 billion (+72.2%), with imports making up $13 billion (-1.8%).
