On assignment the Republic of Kazakhstan the status of EITI compliant country
Today the International Board of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) gathered for meeting in Abidjan city (Cote d'Ivoire), where the compliance of the Republic Kazakhstan to EITI standards was considered. This issue has been considered by EITI International Secretariat and Board since 15, August this year.
As a result, today's meeting of the International Board resumed a final conclusion that the efforts made for implementing EITI in the Republic of Kazakhstan and its results deserve the highest appreciation and announced the assignment of “compliant country” status to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
To recall, the Republic of Kazakhstan joined to Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and assumed the obligation to implement EITI standards in 2005. EITI standards aimed for transparent revenues in mining sector both for companies and governments. EITI has a high international, political and anticorruption status.
